Book Title & Alexandra's Review

The Foodie Flamingo by Vanessa Howl

Young Children

Frankie the Flamingo loves food, but she’s tired of eating the same thing day after day: shrimp. So Frankie decides to expand her palate by trying exciting new foods—with some colorful consequences!

Learn all about becoming a foodie with Frankie in this delightful story about being brave and trying new foods.

I saw this book at the bookstore and was immediately drawn in by the bright pink flamingo on the cover.

The illustrations are full of colorful food dishes and even more colorful birds.

I love how this story ties in with the fact that flamingos get their pink color from the brine shrimp they eat.

Flamingos are so cool. I got a chance to feed flamingos at the LA Zoo. I wasn’t allowed to touch them, but it was still fun. I even got a sticker that says, “I mingled with a flamingo.”

Frankie Flamingo offers advice on how to be a foodie at the back of the book.
