At the edge of the forest stood the Impossible Thing. All animals in the forest often wondered what was beyond the Impossible Thing, but no one had ever tried because getting through it would be . . . impossible. So why even bother?
That’s when a brave little bulldog named Hugo decides he just might be up for the challenge.

With determination and some unexpected help from his friends, Hugo learns that what may seem impossible might just be possible after all.

This is such an uplifting story about a bulldog who dared to ask, “How do we know something is impossible if no one has ever tried?”

The illustrations make me smile. All the animals are so adorable, especially Hugo. He is the second cutest illustrated bulldog I have ever seen. The cutest one is Louie from the picture book ‘A Family for Louie.’

The thing I found the most amusing was how Hugo is the only character with an actual name, while his friends’ names are based on the animals they are, like Mr. Bear and Miss Otter. This is a recurring concept used in most children’s picture books. The story also uses the concept of one character repeating the same line of dialogue over and over again with different characters. But instead of being annoying, like in some books, this story does it in a way that makes it more enjoyable.

This story shows that with determination and teamwork, a seemingly impossible task can become possible.
