4^th Grade and Up

With Thrull’s tower complete, nothing can stop Rezzoch the Ancient, Destructor of Worlds, from coming to our dimension. Nothing, except for thirteen-year-old Jack Sullivan and his pals June, Quint, and Dirk. Jack has been gifted the power to control an army of zombies, the only thing that could turn the tide in the coming battle. Just one problem. He has no clue how to wield this new power.

There’s one all-knowing, all-seeing monster who might be able to tell Jack how to defeat Rezzoch . . . but she lives in the Hidden City in the monster dimension. Jack dives into an interdimensional adventure seeking answers, but what he finds are old enemies, new allies, a world beyond his wildest imagination, and shocking truths that change everything. Even if Jack makes it out of this dimension in one piece, he’ll never be the same.

As you can see on the front cover, Jack isn’t flying solo in his adventure in the monster dimension. Quint and Globlet are along for the ride. Globlet is once again the wacky sidekick in addition to the less-than-helpful guide. Quint is way too excited about being in another dimension. I was just as frustrated with these two as Jack was.

The monster dimension has strange technology, monstrous vehicles, and bizarre rules. But besides that, it didn’t seem all that different from the Earth’s apocalyptic dimension environment. Different dimension, same chaos.

I had hoped it wouldn’t come to this, but it is as I feared. This series has gotten way too complicated and confusing. So many questions are still unanswered, along with new questions. How will Jack and Quint get back to the human dimension from the monster dimension? What are June and Dirk doing while Jack and Quint are in the monster dimension? How are the kids going to take down Thrull’s tower and keep Rezzoch from coming into their dimension? What has Evie been up to since “Thrilling Tales from the Tree House?”

There really isn’t anything more I can say without spoiling the story. One thing is for certain: this series won’t be ending anytime soon. Considering this series’ overall pace, I predict there will be at least three more books. One June and Dirk adventure, one Jack and Quint getting out of the monster dimension, and the final endgame.
