Book Title & Alexandra's Review

How to Apologize by David LaRochelle

3 and Up

Wouldn’t the world be a better place if everyone knew how to apologize?

Luckily, this humorous guidebook is full of practical tips about when, why, and how to say you’re sorry.

This book should be a necessary read for all kids as well as adults.

Most people say they are sorry but don’t mean it. In the words of Junie B. Jones, “A ‘pology is the words I’m sorry. Except for you don’t actually have to mean it. Cause nobody can even tell the difference.”

If you’ve done something wrong that has hurt someone or something, you should own up to your mistakes and apologize. Don’t make excuses and be sincere.

The illustrations are so adorable. I love all the different examples of mistakes made. My favorite picture is where a penguin crashes into a gator’s roof. His little round body hanging there is so cute!
