Join a little girl and other townspeople as they search for the perfect gift books in welcoming bookstores, then rush home to experience the joy of gifting new worlds and adventures to someone.
Based on a real Icelandic tradition where people gift books to their family and friends on Christmas Eve, The Christmas Book Flood brings all the sparkle and anticipation of the winter season and the joys of reading to the page.
This was a fascinating story. I was so excited to read about a Christmas tradition that involves reading.
I suggest reading the Author’s Note first to learn the history of the Christmas Book Flood, then reading the story. I read the story first and had a hard time understanding what was happening.
I’ve included pictures of the Author’s Note below so you can learn how the tradition came to be.
I love the idea of spending Christmas Eve reading, and I plan on participating in this tradition this year. I encourage everybody to start this tradition with their family.
