For Young Children Curious About Science
Why can’t humans breathe underwater?
Why are some people tall and others short?
Why do puppies grow into dogs, and babies grow into people?
This book explores all this and more in flowing, rhyming text, explaining cells, DNA, and genetics in a simple and easy way for children to understand.
What a fun way to learn!
The incredible thing about this book is not only does it explain how DNA works in a way kids can understand, but it does it with rhyming text. I think the rhyming makes it easier to remember. It’s like listening to a song. I still remember a few learning songs from when I was a kid.
I remember learning about cells, DNA, and genetics in middle school. I was disappointed when I learned that brown eyes are a more dominant trait, and I never had a chance of inheriting my mother’s green eyes. I did inherit my grandfather’s dimples.
Additional information about DNA and a fun banana DNA extraction experiment is included at the end of the book.
