Book Title & Alexandra's Review

When Numbers Met Letters by Lois Barr

Young Children

When Numbers and Letters meet for the first time, they are very curious about each other.

9 and P have much in common. The Letter O and Zero could be twins!

But which are more important – the Numbers or the Letters?

The Roman Numerals help figure it all out for laugh-out-loud learning fun.

This is a super cute and clever story that discusses numbers and letters in a fun-filled way.

When you are first learning about letters and numbers, it’s a bit confusing because some of the numbers look like letters. When you’re older, you don’t really think about it. That’s why I think this book is so clever. I had forgotten how b d & 6 all have a similar shape.

The illustrations are excellent. I love the eyes, mouths, and stick hands on all the Letters and Numbers. And I love how the whole story is told using speech bubbles.

If you read this book, take note of the Letters that are spelling out words.
