Who else gossiped with Queen Elizabeth I, taught geography to Napoleon, marched for equal rights with Martin Luther King Jr. and served as Andy Warhol’s muse?
This journey through time with a beloved character from the Land of Stories series will be perfect for new and old fans alike.

If anyone from the Land of Stories deserves their own book, it’s Mother Goose. Throughout books 2-6, she has given us snippets of her adventures in the Fairy Tales world and the Otherworld, but now we get to learn the whole story.

Mother Goose, in my opinion, is a cross between the Doctor from Doctor Who(because she travels through time, in a way, and is funny and unpredictable)and Sophia Petrillo from The Golden Girls (because you never know what’s going to come out of her mouth).

The main thing I love so much about Mother Goose is her role in the Otherworld’s history. In the main series books, she was constantly dropping hints of her adventures with historical figures. Examples below:

“I remember another time when a bunch of young people went missing – we called it Woodstock, but that’s a different story.”

“Like I said to Lewis and Clark, North America ain’t gonna explore itself. Let’s get a move on.”

In her memoirs, we get a more detailed version of her influence on historical events.

The only problem I had with this book is that it’s too short. It’s been a while since I read the full series, so I don’t remember everything Mother Goose has said, but I’m sure she’s done more than what is mentioned in this 101-page book. Fortunately, this book has an audio version, so I got to listen to it in Chris Colfer’s Mother Goose voice.
